In June 2026, Thailand
experienced rainfall throughout most of the month due to the influence of a
moderate to rather active southwest monsoon prevailing over the Andaman Sea,
Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand throughout the month. This was accompanied
by the monsoon trough periodically lying across Myanmar and upper Laos toward
the low-pressure cell covering Vietnam almost the entire month. However, the
amount and distribution of rain in Thailand were uneven, causing below-normal
rainfall in most parts of the country. The average total rainfall in Thailand
for this month was approximately 8% below the norm, with most regions reporting
below-normal monthly rainfall: the northern region received 19.0 mm (12% of the
norm), the northeastern region 61.9 mm (32%), the central region 16.8 mm (11%)
and the eastern region 64.4 mm (25%) while rainfall was
above normal in southern region (east coast) 5.2 mm (4%) and the southern
region (west coast) 142.9 mm (43%). The monthly mean temperature in Thailand
