Subject: Heavy to Very Heavy Rain in Thailand
No.3 (219/2026)

During 23 – 27 September
2026, the active low-pressure
cell over the middle coast of Vietnam will move to cover the lower Northeast,
the East, the Central including Bangkok and vicinity along the monsoon trough
lying across upper Thailand. Meanwhile the southwest monsoon prevailing across
the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf will strengthen. Isolated heavy to very heavy rains are likely
over the country especially in the North, the lower Northeast, the Central
including Bangkok and vicinity, the East and the South regions. The initial
impacts are expected over the lower Northeast and the East, with other regions
forecast to be affected subsequently.
People in the country should beware of heavy
to very heavy rains and accumulation that may cause flash floods, overflows and
landslides especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.
The strengthened winds forces
the wave in the upper Gulf up to 2 - 3 meters and above 3 meters high in
thundershowers. The waves in the lower Gulf and the upper Andaman Sea are likely
about 2 meters high with above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and
keep off thundershowers. Small boat in the upper Gulf should keep ashore during
23 – 27 September 2026.
