Subject: Heavy to Very Heavy Rain in Thailand

No.18 (234/2026)

The low-pressure cell has moved to cover the Gulf of Martaban. Meanwhile the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea, the South and the Gulf.

Heavy rain and isolated very heavy rain are likely in the western and lower North, the western Central and the East while less rain is expected over the rest regions but isolated heavy rain remain.

People in the North, the Central and the East is advised to remain on alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next 24 hours that may cause flash floods, overflows and landslides especially along the waterways near foothills and lowlands.

The strengthening winds forces the wave in the upper Gulf and the upper Andaman Sea up to be
2-3 meters high and above 3 meters high in thundershowers. In the lower Gulf and the lower Andaman Sea, the waves are likely about 2 meters high and above 2 meters high in thundershowers. All ships should proceed with caution and keep off thundershowers, small boat in the upper Gulf and the upper Andaman Sea keep ashore lasting 28 September 2026.
